Gauche Aquatic Park - Yuba City

By Betty Sanchez/Macaroni Kid Yuba-Sutter March 6, 2020

One of my new year's resolutions was to spend more time playing with my twelve-year old son; so we decided to explore all the parks in the Yuba Sutter area, it will take some time, but we are not in a hurry.

The first park we visited was Gauche Aquatic Park, because it is the closest to our house. The day was beautiful; we enjoyed rolling on the grass and practicing our soccer moves.

Despite my fear of slides, I got on all of them to fully enjoy the experience. We tried all the playground equipment to be able to share an accurate assessment; there is an area for children 2-5 years old and another wider area for children 6-12 years old.

After trying all the structures, we sat under one of the leafy trees next to the horse shoe pits to take a break. In general, the park is excellent; the facilities have bathrooms, a covered area for picnics and barbecue, and several benches in the open area to sit to read or rest, and a row of benches where one can enjoy reading, observing the surroundings or watching the sunsets. The only objection to this park, according to my son, is that only have two small swings in the toddler area, other than that it is a kid approved park and also a tobacco-free park.

Starting on May 23 you can enjoy the Aquatic Park which features a 10,000 square foot building; it has an enclosed reception area, first aid station, multipurpose rooms, men’s and women’s locker areas and concession area.  Enjoy the 3 pools, waterslides, AquaClimb, diving boards and more.

Children 10 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a supervisor 16 or older to enter the Aquatic Park.
