From the Coco Party meet and greet to the Mickey’s Search Party, Disney On Ice was a magical adventure. My son, my friend, her little girl and I, engaged in the activities provided at the Coco Party meet and greet; there were lots of materials to do marigold flowers, Coco theme coloring pages, guitars, a family tree, plus light snacks. The highlight of the party was taking photos with Minnie Mouse, the children and adults seemed to enjoy the experience equally.
The adventure continued in the arena, Mickey Mouse along with Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy brainstormed together to find Thinker Bell; Captain Hook and his pirates were trying to steal her magic, but the search party used his treasure map for clues to find her. Every clue brought to stage different characters, starting from Belle, the performance in the air was amazing! Toy Story and the Little Mermaid were incredibly fun; children were cheering and clapping at every acrobatic act.
I was marveled at the scenes from Moana and her travels across the ocean; we sailed along captivated by the colors, the digital images in the background and the music. Coco brought a roar of applause when Miguel started singing remember me; the Land of the Dead become alive with folkloric dancers and skeletons performing in poles high over the audience, a truly beautiful celebration of culture and ancient traditions.
With every clue uncovered, the search party celebrated being closer to finding Thinker Bell; with every performance, children from the audience were selected to be part of the celebration, one lucky child played Miguel’s guitar, another one rubbed the magic lamp before Aladdin come to stage, and some others join in for different adventures.
We traveled to Arendelle along with Anna and Olaf; the acrobatics from Kristoff and other ice outdoors men were amazing. Singing along with Elsa while she skated in her ice palace was the perfect closing to help the search party to find Thinker Bell; a little girl in front of me was singing, and dancing as if she was part of the magical act. Captain Hook and his pirates were defeated!
All the characters came out together to end the celebration; we joined in by clapping for their fantastic performance. We drove home talking about how much we enjoyed the show.
