Hi Moms and Dads from the Yuba-Sutter area!

I don’t know about you, but I am grateful for this week slightly cooler weather.  I had a busy week at work, but I managed to attend a couple of locations during National Night Out; I had the opportunity to have a conversation with firefighters, law enforcement officers, and many other first responders. My son was excited to get a photo with Gunner, a K-9 member of the Yuba City Police Department.

My grandkids from Southern California are in town for the weekend; we are planning to have an early dinner on Friday and after that, we will attend Movie Night at the Museum, remember to register in advance.

Usually, on Saturday mornings, my youngest son and I, go to the Yuba City Certified Farmers Market to get fresh flowers or a homemade pie, but mainly to get a new succulent plant to add to our collection.

After the Farmers Market, I will meet my daughter at Sperbeck's Nursery to drink coffee from Bridge Coffee Co. Clark Avenue in the garden, and will probably stay for the Free Seminar-Terrarium.

Being an art lover, I cannot miss the Closing Celebration for Frida Kahlo's Garden; if you did not have a chance to attend the opening reception; this is your last opportunity to enjoy the exhibit.  I have been in Frida Kahlo’s house in Mexico City, La Casa Azul, many times, I can assure you that the exhibition pays homage to the life, art, house and garden of Frida Kahlo.

There are plenty of family-oriented events to choose from. What are your plans for this weekend?

Back to school is already happening in some districts; parents are running from store to store buying clothes and school materials for their children. I recommend the article Back to School Pressures: Four Ways We’re Stressing Out Our Kids to ease the transition into a new school year.

I wish you a great weekend and a successful new school year!

Until next Friday!
